Nagykaniszsa - Ali Abdi

Yesterday could have been one of the best days on the trip. There was a huge castle and toured all of it, and most of the jazz band and chamber choir really liked it (even though it was in the mourning). The castle was just amazing because of its view of the whole city. After going into the castle we went into a museum about another castle and was huge. The library in the museum was really big and just astonishing overall, and we learned a lot about the castle.

The next thing we did was to prepare for our concert and get ready to play. There were four performances in the concert. The first group was a group called the Orff ensemble and they were really good, the songs I really liked were Sing Sing Sing and West Side Story. Once they were done the next insanely good band went on, their name was the Nagykanizsa band. They played one song that really made me happy and it was Jazz Police. I really loved their band and I was sad when they were done, but then it was our turn and I was really excited. I feel like our performance was really good especially these songs: Sing Sang Sung, Moanin’, and Georgia On My Mind. The solos were in these songs Alex G. (trombone) and me (trombone) on Sing Sang Sung, Phil S. (bari sax) and Davis B. (trombone) on Moanin’, and Chris W. (alto sax) on Georgia On My Mind, and all of the solos were amazing (especially Chris W.) The last thing that we did was we partied till midnight and it was sweet. The whole experience of that day was just huge and I personally learned a lot.

Unfortunately that day is over and a new day has started. We had to say bye to our new friends (and yes there were tears shedding) and wish them good luck in future times. I personally will miss Nagykanizsa and all that inhabit it because of its nice weather (NO SNOW :)) and my new friends.
