More Salo & Turku...

Today we had to say our goodbyes to our Finnish friends. But, the goodbyes had started last night with a party in the school gym after our tour of Salo. At the party we played musical chairs, limbo, listened to music, and chatted with our friends. The also served us Hawaiin pizza for dinner (We still don’t know if that is what they call it in Finland). After the party we went to our hosts homes. With our hosts we had a little family night. We ate dinner, exchanged gifts, and chatted about various topics with our adopted Finnish families.

This morning we got up, ate breakfast, and headed to school. When we got to school we dropped our luggage in the lecture room and headed to class with our Finnish hosts. We went to art class there we drew pictures to leave behind with the class. After art we went to lunch and had barley with chicken and gravy, a mixed berry sauce, and salad. After lunch we headed to math class (not the ideal thing to be doing on a trip to Europe while you still have jet lag). We stayed in math for maybe 15 or 20 minutes(Thank goodness). When we left we went to school entrance to say our final goodbyes to our hosts. This was a very sad time. Who knew that we could become such good friends in just 3 short days. We took pictures, exchanged e-mails, and gave countless hugs. Many of the Finnish hosts and friends were teary eyed. Our friends waved us goodbye as we drove off. As we made our way to Turku everyone was kind of sad.

We got to Turku and had a hour or so to go shopping. there were a few malls, a market square, and a walking street with shops on it. While shopping we got gifts, souvenirs, and cloths. We boarded the bus at 2:45 and went to pick up a guide. the guide brought us around Turku and showed us things such as the restaurant boats, some museums, and a Lutheran Cathedral. In the cathedral the choir sang That Ever I Saw. It was the perfect song. The cathedral made the whole song echo. And now, we are touring some more and heading to a restaurant for dinner tonight.
